The Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts is a vibrant new hub of arts activity on the UChicago campus. Set to open for classes and limited events this spring, the interdisciplinary arts facility houses classrooms, studios, rehearsal rooms, as well as exhibition and performance spaces. A grand opening celebration is scheduled for this fall. Comics: Philosophy & Practice will be the first major conference held in the Logan Center.

Parking

Metered street parking may be found around the Midway Plaisance. There is a parking garage at 6054 South Drexel Avenue. There is also a parking lot at the corner of South Drexel Avenue and 61st Street, which is free on weekends and after 4 p.m. on weekdays.

Getting to the Logan Center

Driving from O'Hare Airport

  • Take I-90 East to Chicago,
  • Once past downtown Chicago, exit to I-55 North and then to Lake Shore Drive South,
  • From Lake Shore Drive, exit at 57th Drive. Follow 57th Drive as it curves left around the Museum of Science and Industry and turns into Cornell Drive,
  • Turn right onto the Midway Plaisance (no traffic light, but there is a sign at that corner pointing to I-94),
  • Cross Stony Island Avenue and Dorchester Avenue,
  • Turn left onto South Woodlawn Ave, then right onto east 60th,
  • Continue west to Ingleside Ave. The Logan Center will be on your left.

Driving from Midway Airport

  • Go north on Cicero Avenue to I-55,
  • Take I-55 North to Chicago and exit to Lake Shore Drive South,
  • From Lake Shore Drive, exit at 57th Drive. Follow 57th Drive as it curves left around the Museum of Science and Industry and turns into Cornell Drive,
  • Turn right onto the Midway Plaisance (no traffic light, but there is a sign at that corner pointing to the I-94). Cross Stony Island Avenue and Dorchester Avenue,
  • Turn left on Woodlawn Avenue and then right at the stop sign onto 60th Street,
  • Continue west to Ingleside Ave. The Logan Center will be on your left.

Airport Shuttle

  • If you are downtown, you can easily get to the Logan Center by using public transportation; however, using public transportation to get to the Logan Center from either airport can be difficult as you will need to transfer modes of transport somewhere downtown,
  • You may want to contact Omega Shuttle at 773-483-OMEGA (773-483-6634) or omegashuttle.com. Omega has designated stops at the University and around Hyde Park,
  • Another option is Continental Airport Express at 888-2TheVan (888-284-3826) or airportexpress.com,
  • If you plan to use one of these services, you should contact them before arriving in Chicago.

Driving from Lake Shore Drive

  • Exit at 57th Drive (the Museum of Science and Industry),
  • Go west and curve around the museum,
  • Take the fourth right onto the Midway Plaisance and go west to the campus,
  • Turn left on Woodlawn, then right on 60th street,
  • Continue west to Ingleside. The Logan Center is on your left.

Driving from Dan Ryan Expressway (I-94)

  • Exit at Garfield Blvd. (55th St.) and drive east,
  • Turn right on Martin Luther King Drive,
  • Follow South for about 5 blocks, then turn left on 60th Street,
  • Follow 60th until you reach Drexel,
  • The Logan Center is on your right.

By Bus or Train

  • Catch the CTA #6 Jeffrey Express bus southbound on State Street in downtown Chicago (the Loop). Or, catch the Metra commuter train at the Randolph, Van Buren, or Roosevelt stations in the Loop,
  • From there, get off at either 57th or 59th Street (not all trains stop at 59th Street). Cross underneath the Metra overpass on 57th or 59th Street and continue in that direction towards campus,
  • Turn left on Woodlawn Avenue and then right at the stop sign onto 60th Street.
  • Continue west to Ingleside. The Logan Center will be on your left between Ingleside and Drexel.

  • You can take the CTA Green Line south to 63rd and Cottage Grove (not all Green Line trains stop here, so be sure to take one that indicates 63rd/Cottage Grove as its destination. From the station, walk 3 blocks north to 60th street, then turn right and walk a block to the Logan Center,
  • You can also take the CTA Red Line south to Garfield Avenue and take the #55 bus east to Ellis Avenue,
  • Walk approximately 5 blocks south to 60th Street, then turn east (left) onto 60th street. The Logan Center is between Drexel and Ingleside on 60th street.

  • Catch the Metra Electric commuter train at the Randolph, Van Buren, or Roosevelt station,
  • Get off at 59th Street and walk west to the campus,
  • Turn left on Woodlawn, then right on 60th street,
  • Continue west to Ingleside. The Logan Center is between Drexel and Ingleside on 60th street.
